Hi! I'm Kavi, a sophomore at the University of Pennsylvania. I am currently intending to major in mathematical economics and minor in computer science, although I have a wide variety of interests and enjoy taking many different types of classes. I tutored at the school tutoring center throughout high school, helping my fellow students with homework, concepts and test prep in several different subjects including math, chemistry, physics, and Spanish. In addition, I volunteered at the Kumon Le... ... More

To say the least I was very skeptical of this whole tutoring process but upon meeting and working with the tutor I am very pleased with the process and most importantly with the tutor and able to see progress being made. His demeanor and approach is very relaxed, patient, and understanding. He explains and assists in such a manner that is very engaging, easy to understand and able to relate to his students. Would highly recommend.

"Highly Qualified to Tutor Java or any HS Mathematics Subject!"

I have been tutoring since high school. Mothers would pay me to tutor the children in my neighborhood. I have always had the gift of breaking concepts down so people could understand. I am comfortable with tutoring any high school subject in mathematics as well as physics. I should also mention I am a certified Java professional, and am very comfortable discussing those concepts as well. I look forward to guiding you or your child to full comprehension and much success!... ... More

Rebecca is working with my niece Sandy. I am getting great feedback from both Rebecca and Sandy as to how the tutoring sessions are coming along. The sessions are giving Sandy the knowledge, skills and confidence she needs to pass this test. She is working hard to be able to pass the GED in May. Thanks, Rebecca!
Karen is very considerate and teaches me how to speak English correctly using interesting articles. First of all, Karen always makes me feel at ease. This gives me confidence, so I enjoy speaking English. Even if I use broken English or my pronunciation is repeatedly wrong, she corrects my mistakes kindly. That is a big chance for to me to improve my English without fear. Karen's tolerant attitude encourages me to speak English more. I have also learned to speak English efficiently in class with Karen. In class, I speak about an article that I am interested in with her, correcting my pronunciation and intonation, and then I try to summarize the article. Karen and I sometimes discuss the article, too. It's a great opportunity for me to study my animation skills by reading articles related to my major, and it also helps me to improve my English directly during our classes. This is one way for me to kill two birds with one stone. I am satisfied with these tutoring classes because I get to read interesting articles related to my major, and I learn to improve my English at the same time. I am happy to meet with Karen every week because she is always generous with her compliments, and I learn a lot during our tutorials, not only about my English, but also about my animation skills, which is important to me because that is my major.
Ms. Mary M is a wonderful person; she is very kind and patient. I have always had trouble writing essays and lab reports since English is not my first language; but I figured that a lot of native speakers face the same problem. My experience with the tutoring centers at the two schools I have attended was horrible. Tutors on campus never give insightful advice when they read your paper. Also they do not edit or correct your mistakes; they would simply mark them wrong and leave them up to you to correct. However, that does not help when you have a very important paper due. Therefore, I would usually get a B on a paper that I was supposed get A, if I didn't make tons of grammar and/or sentence structure errors. This time I had to write a review on a very famous research study done by more than twenty scientists and professors from the world's most famous schools, such as the University of Oxford. Their calculation was simply wrong, however, in order to prove that, I had to submit an excellent review paper without any mistakes. My research paper will be published soon. Before talking to Ms. Mary M, I contacted several other tutors at WyzAnt who did not respond back in timely manner. I was very disappointed. However, Mary called me back after I e-mailed her for the first time, she finished editing my paper on the same day, and above all, she gives excellent advice from the bottom of her heart. I am very satisfied with the new edition of the paper and I feel very respected. We did not meet in person and that's what I was looking for. I just needed someone who can polish my research paper. My paper was about 9 pages long but she charged me for only three hours. I highly recommend Ms. Mary M.!!!
