"English/German/Art/SAT/ACT Tutor"

People tend to think that writing is akin to some form of magic, but I've come to find it's more science than art. It's a craft that takes practice, skill, and technique, all which can be learned under the guidance of a capable instructor. My name's Rick and I am currently an architecture student at the Cooper Union. I'm originally from Los Angeles and spent the last four years as a tutor for English, SAT/ACT, German, and Art. I tutored high schoolers at both private and public schools, a... ... More

Meeraj has given my son many lessons to teach him Chemistry of High School level. He has very deep knowledge of Chemistry, works with my son patiently and prepares good questions to test him. I also asked Meeraj to give few Physics lesson too, he was equally good at Physics too. He covers a lot during each session. Compared to other tutors who I contacted, he took fewer lessons and was spot on from day one. I am glad to find him through WyzAnt. Thanks

I took the MCAT in the summer of 2009 after 1.5-2 months of studying for only a few hours a day. I received a composite score of 31 with section scores of 11 PS, 10 BS, 10 VR. I was skeptical about using a tutor because I have had bad experiences in the past but Daren's ability to adapt his teaching style to my learning style was amazing! I despise statistics and most all math but he was able to explain it to me in a way that allowed me to grasp the formulas and concepts. If you are looking for a tutor with good prices who isn't looking to nickel and dime you and knowledgeable then choose Daren!

"Retired But Just Can't Quit"

I have worked in education for the last thirty years. In that time I have had the pleasure of working with literally thousands of students. A large part of helping each student to achieve his or her goals was helping them develop good study skills. Developing good organizational and time management skills was a good start, but good study skills are a lot more than that. I would help each student to develop their own study skills by using various methods of obtaining, understanding, retaining, and being able to recall the subject matter when they needed it. By presenting them with a wide variet ... More

I grew up in Queens and moved quickly through the New York City public school system, completing high school math and college English composition while still in middle school and graduating from LaGuardia High School at 16. Christine is a good teacher. My elder son, 9 y/o likes her and I asked if he's ok w/ her, and my son said she was able to relate with him and seems to know teaching well, however, my younger son, a 9 y/o could not relate to her teaching style, maybe Christine would be able to adjust the style when it comes to my other son. Suggestion: 1st 30 mins with my younger son & last 30 mins with my elder son. Except this coming Saturday only, 03/12/11, I requested Christine just for 30 mins only since we need to meet our other app't thereafter.
I am very pleased to be learning from Eliezer, his methodology and concepts are outstanding in the hebrew language. I was fully engaged from the beginning up to the end of the lessons. His passion in teaching and humor are a great balance to learn as well as to enjoy hebrew. I look forward acquiring the wealth of knowledge Eliezer has to offer in this subject.
My reason for seeking an Excel tutor was to upgrade my skill set with Excel functions for Data Analysis. Richard's knowledge of worksheet formulas, computer language, and Microsoft Office applications reflects an advanced level of knowledge. His ability to understand what I need to learn when given an example not only demonstrates his knowledge base but more so shows how he listens to understand what to teach me. After our second session, we decided to focus on my immediate needs, while simultaneously, looking at a broader view of instruction. He has introduced the important functions and concepts allowing me to use those as a building blocks for creating worksheets that incorporate macros. He recommended websites so I could learn on my own and seek answers to augment our sessions. As of our fourth session we have integrated homework to further my hands on approach and increase my programming skills. He is patient, highly knowledgeable, and places a high value on being the best for his students.
My daughter was very comfortable with Pamela and was happy with all the help that was given to her, she will continue to take help from Pamela as long as she needs to.
