Janice has been a wonderful tutor for my student. He is trying to get ready for the SAT's, he is a senior who has struggled with this test. We are working with Janice on Math and Critical Reading. Janice is very patient, tries to make each session fun and works wonderfully with him. We are so lucky to have found Janice and we look forward to the next few months and watching our student understand and learn.

I have always loved doing Mathematics and enjoy helping others to understand it better. I began tutoring around 1985 when I began college. My daughter is in the 11th grade, and has been through 4 tutors since middle school, and by far Ben O. has been the BEST tutor we have ever had. Not only is he very well liked by our daughter, but she is so happy with all that she has learned so far with Ben. He is very professional, knowledgeable, friendly and basically makes our daughter feel comfortable and confident in herself. Our daughter has told us that in the one hour timeframe that she has spent with Ben, she has learned more with Ben, then she has in school since 9th grade. Our daughter has always struggle in school with Math & English/Reading, but hiring Ben to tutor our daughter to help prep her for her upcoming PSAT & SAT testing this upcoming school year, has given our daughter & us as parents the confidence to know that she will do well under Ben's guidance. I am sure that you will be able to read our positive feedback once again after our daughter successfully completes all of her testing, thanks to all of Ben's outstanding tutoring. Thank you Ben for everything so far, we're looking forward to our successful tutoring journey.

"Do You Need Help in Biology, Math, or English?"

I have a doctorate in microbiology and for years conducted research in pulmonary physiology at Brown University School of medicine. I help students with biology, geometry, algebra, trigonometry, English, creative writing, German, and biological, verbal, and mathematical standardized test preparation, particularly the Regents and the SAT. I love to tutor one-to-one, for it is the most effective way to teach. I have been a WyzAnt tutor for a year or more, and almost all my students have passe... ... More

I began tutoring with Joel last week. Despite his travels and the holidays, he responded to my request promptly, which was greatly appreciated. He is very encouraging and really wants his students to do well. Joel provided me with the best resources for studying. His guidelines are useful and applicable. When he heard my time frame for the preparation for the GRE (it was very short), we immediately establish an intensive study plan. Joel, himself, had gone through a lot of material to provide his students with the best quality information. He is very in touch with me throughout the whole process and gives me feedback on my progress constantly. I love the fact that he makes you think logically rather than just learning the formulas and concepts. Joel is also very resourceful and tries to cover material in a very time efficient, yet understandable matter. He deducts all the breaks we take for the 'small talk' during our Skype lessons. And tries to answer all my questions via email after. I feel very lucky to have found such a great tutor, who embarked on this journey with me.
I am a former teacher and Theresa has helped me to prepare for the spanish language proficiency test. Being a teacher myself, I had high expectations in terms of hiring a tutor. Theresa is great and exceeded my expectations. She is fluent yet has a solid understanding of how adults learn a second language. In other words, she not only knows how to speak spanish but can explain the grammar behind it. All around a highly skilled educator!
