"Shannon - English/Violin/Swimming Tutor"
In college I earned a TESOL certificate and taught conversational English to Chinese freshmen in an intensive language program. I created lesson plans, gathered outside materials and resources, and supervised the volunteer tutors who assisted me in the class. I also had a part-time job as an English writing tutor, helping all freshmen with their compositions for basic ENG 101 courses.
In 2012 I was a Fulbright English Teaching Assistant, although the title is misleading. I was not an assist... ... More

"Experienced ESL teacher, specializing in all things English :)"
Hello! I’m Casey and I’m just the book-nerd you’re looking for! I graduated in 2017 with my degree in English literature and a minor in Communications. For several months after graduating, I taught ESL in Costa Rica. I specialize in writing, reading comprehension, vocabulary and literacy, but I’m more than happy to assist with the duller side of English, i.e. grammar, spelling etc. I am also happy to help with test prep and/or tutor those learning English as a second language. I have experien... ... More

Jeremy has a gift to think and see outside the box and this gift has re-ignited my son's enthusiasm about learning and about receiving tutoring. Although we are just doing a few weeks, I can already tell we are going to see some amazing progress and lasting results. Thanks for everything!!

Cody was better at explaining concepts of chemistry to my son, than his actual teacher. He was very straight forward and gave a clear understanding of the concepts. I would highly recommend him to others.

I found Ms. M. through WyzAnt search for AP chem tutor for my daughter who is a high school junior. After reading through the many excellent reviews, I decided to try a session with Ms. M. My daughter was ecstatic after the first lesson. She is a solid student, but she feels she does not have a solid grip of the many concepts, and she feels insecure about the subject matter. Ms. M. helped to solidify my daughter's knowledge base, and answered many many questions, which, when accumulated over the semester, will topple a student's foundation of knowledge. My daughter said that Ms. M. was very clear, and explained concepts in a way my daughter was able to understand. Ms. M. helped my daughter study for the AP Chem exam, and many in-class exams. She is invaluable, and we are so lucky to have found her. THANK YOU Ms. M.!
