My daughter's school in Ohio uses a new math procedure called Singapore Math. I have had a really hard time finding a tutor that was expert in mathematics and knowledgeable in this technique. Prior to Debbie, I had tried two tutors in math for my daughter. One tutor rushed through examples and didn't interact with my daughter enough. The other tutor was not experienced enough to comprehend and relate this math method to a young child. Finally, thank God, I found Debbie on Wyzant!!! Debbie is not only super intelligent in general and in mathematics but she also has a special gift of relaying complicated concepts in a way that kids can understand and process. She doesn't just rush through examples but she actually engages your child and coaches them to 'think things through'. At the end of the session, she even provided my daughter with a summary of very helpful tips that related to the lesson session. Lastly, the nicest thing happened after our lesson. My daughter actually said 'Mom she's a great teacher' and I definitely agree 100%! If you want a 5 star tutor, look know further than Debbie!!!
