"Quality Tutoring from an Actual Scientist!"

I have had a breadth of experience in my field and I bring all of this applied knowledge into my tutoring sessions. You can rest assured that tutoring from me is assistance from someone who has lived their subject, from performing habitat fragmentation studies on bottlenose dolphins on the gulf coast, to analysis of blood chemistry in dogs and cats. I also have experience in outreach and formal education from ages of 5+ all the way to college level, so you will be presented material in a me... ... More

Kelly is an amazing tutor! I never thought I would say this but I actually had fun with Spanish and I have such a better understanding of ser vs. estar which the first time I did not understand at all! She is a miracle worker! Thanks Kelly! Kelly is helping my daughter learn the Spanish that she didn't understand and learn in school. Kelly has been a tremendous help to my daughter this summer and has helped her gain the confidence she will need come this fall when she takes another Spanish class in school. Kelly is excellent at explaining Spanish. Thank you Kelly for helping my daughter.

"Versatile, Personalized Tutoring"

I tutored Physics and Mathematics for 2-3 years at Hamline University in St. Paul, MN. I also have minors in Psychology and Spanish and am fairly knowledgeable in many other subject areas. As far as my tutoring philosophy, I believe that there's more than one way to explain something. If a student isn't comprehending something, I will try to explain it in a different manner. After all, not everyone learns the same way. I, myself, am a visual learner. If I don't see a math problem worked ou... ... More

"Amy- Violin Teacher"

Hello, I am currently pursuing my Masters of Music at the Shepherd School of Music at Rice University. I received my Bachelors of Music in violin performance at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. When I started violin, I began with the Suzuki Violin Method which is a method that teaches the student to learn music by ear rather than reading notes on a page. The purpose of the Suzuki Method is also to nurture the student not only musically but as a person. I believe that each student has a di... ... More

"Great at science and math!"

I graduated from college with a bachelor's degree with majors in math and chemistry in 2005. Afterwards, I went on to get my PhD in chemistry, graduating in 2009. While in college, I had the opportunity to work as an in-school tutor in the public school system, tutoring students in grades 1-12 in all subjects. My major focus, however, was grades 3-5 math and reading and 9-12 math and science. I've found that using real world examples, especially for math and science, help students learn t... ... More

Ahmed was my daughter's tutor who helped her for the GRE. We will use Ahmed again when we get close to the LSAT. My advise to prospective GRE takers is to start studying as early as possible. Thanks Ahmed.

"Patient & Effective Tutor/Mentor/Coach"

Between January 2000 and December 2001, I taught a course called Contemporary Applications of Modern Mathematics for four semesters at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. The course covered Graph Theory, Voting Methods, Apportionment, The Traveling Salesman Problem, and Descriptive Statistics. I planned, taught, and graded this class for two sections each semester, with around 25 students in each class. ... More
