Karen did a great job tutoring my son on his homework and reading. He is looking forward to having more sessions with her and also loved that he got to choose a sticker as his reward for doing a great job.

I am a Special Education teacher and GED instructor with 10+ years in teaching. I work with students in elementary math, algebra, reading, and language arts in grades Kindergarten to 10th grade. I believe a special education teacher must have excellent communication skills so that they can interact with the students and parents. They must have patience and be able to understand the abilities of each student. I believe each student learns in different ways. I use several teaching tools to enh... ... More

I wanted to wait a bit before I wrote a review. My daughter has been seeing Anne Marie for a few weeks now. She is patient and she explains the material in ways where my daughter understands. I can see her confidence growing. Even though she has a ways to go, I already see a difference. I initially only wanted to hire a tutor to prepare my daughter for the ELA and Math exams, however seeing the change in my daughter, I would like Anne Marie to tutor my daughter long term, even over the summer. Thank you so much!

"Enthusiastic, Experienced HS English Teacher"
I became a teacher as a second career and it happened because I fell in love with working with high school students that were struggling.
Originally an aide, I returned to college and based on my first degree in Anthropology, pursued teaching of Social Studies. I took the Praxis in English and ultimately scored higher in the English subject area! Entrenched in teaching, I continue to look for exciting ways to bring texts and thought alive to my student audience.

Ashley S. is a natural teacher. She is flexible, sincere, and attentive. I am looking forward to our next lesson.

Our first meeting went well. My daughter took to Frau Gisela easily and my son was a little hesitant at first. Throughout the course of the session my son became more comfortable speaking with her and became more confident in wanting to speak out in German. Gisela was able to assess their level of German and develop a plan to fulfill both the children s' needs. It was a great first session and cannot wait for the next!
