Jon is a great tutor! He contacted me immediately when I put in a request for him to tutor me. We sat down initially and went over what I needed to learn, which was to basically get prepared for the NREMT,(paramedic), exam. Jon is very patient and thorough with the material and has a clever way of putting everything together to make the most complicated things seem simple! I am confident I will pass the exam this time.

As a single and working mom, I am constantly looking for ways to spend more time to focus on my son's reading and overall educational development. I was introduced to WyzAnt and thus found Janet. My son began reading and math lessons with Janet as he was just about to enter 1st grade. I loved how she took time to get to know him during the first few sessions which in turn made him more receptive and built the trust needed for him to succeed. I saw results after the very first session, meaning my son was asking me "mom, when is she coming back." Any mom knows that's a great sign of things to come. Here we are almost a year later and my son has breezed through 1st grade. Janet not only taught my son reading skills and math comprehension, she taught him soft skills such as how to ask questions when he doesn't understand as well as ways to make learning fun. I can go on and on... I am more than pleased with Janet. I ask her all the time, "Can you tutor my son until he goes off to College" (he-he). All in all... she is awesome. I have referred my friends and colleagues to her as well.

After Francesca started tutoring my son, his grade jumped to a B- in just two months. I can tell that Francesca loves teaching and is interested in student success. Also, she's up to date with technology, incorporating use of computer apps in learning (new apps for iPad and iPhone)that are popular with tech savvy kids. She is very involved in the teaching process, following up with the Spanish teacher in school about lessons plans, quizzes and tests. I would recommend Francesca to anyone that is interested in learning Spanish or improving their performance in Spanish class.

I have worked with many students with ADD/ADHD. As a tutor, I find that the one-on-one interaction gives the ability to foster a strong interpersonal relationship that gives the student the flexibility to refocus his energy. With students diagnosed with ADD it is essential that we maximize the students' ability to concentrate. I thus teach the students in a calm environment and often give students checklists (agendas) of what they will learn that day, which allows the student to focus more clearly because they can anticipate what will come next. ...
