I have been awarded First Place in the 2014 Writers-Editors Network International Writing Competition in the Unpublished Nonfiction Article/Essay/Book Chapter Category for my story entitled "The Making of Sugar: A Memory". A French native speaker, I lived and taught English and Art in a private French/Senegalese IB High School and a Middle School from 2006 to 2010. My teaching career has evolved primarily through the teaching of French, English and Art in private and International schools i... ... More

I was pleased with the tutoring service that Marlene L. provided because I was a senior in college and attending my last two classes required prior to graduation; I was struggling in Statistics, and I had a D average. Tutoring at my school was only offered once a week, and it was too far to drive. I was desperate for a tutor because I had to improve my grade in order to graduate. I contacted WyzAnt after searching a couple of other sites, and I sent a request to Marlene on a Sunday afternoon; she contacted me immediately, we discussed my need, set a tutoring schedule, and she began tutoring me the following week; Marlene is very knowledgeable in Statistics, and she is very patient because she always took the time to explain information that was not clear to me; she followed my textbook during instruction, but she also showed me other methods to help me grasp the information more easily. Marlene also adjusted her schedule a few times to accommodate my schedule. She genuinely cares about her students, which means a lot to me. My final grade in Statistics was a B, and I graduated and earned a Bachelors degree. I'm sure that I would have graduated, but I don't think I would have graduated on time if Marlene had not helped when she did. Seeking tutoring services by WyzAnt is one of the best investment decisions I have made. I recommend that everyone try WyzAnt. Thank you Marlene L. and WyzAnt.

"Dr. M., math tutor"

My interest has always been in the teaching of mathematics, and how we learn and apply the tools of the subject. It has been interesting to observe and participate in the evolution of the pedagogy. In many ways the pedagogy has changed, and in some ways it has remained the same. I started mathematics teaching in junior high school. I have taught junior high school, middle-school mathematics, high school mathematics, and freshman and sophomore college mathematics. Several mathematics subjec... ... More

"Educating Your Children"

Everyone wants their children to be successful. Let an expert do this for you. Over 25 years of experience. My background has been in Elementary and Middle School education. With the experience of dealing with students with behavior problems has been a plus in my career. Children need time and help and they can be successful. Due to time educators are on a rigid time schedule and often moving on to the next content. Some students need more time to grasp that concept. Every student is ca... ... More

"Patient, knowledgeable, and friendly History, Math, and Writing tutor"

I graduated from Kentucky Christian University with a double major in History and Biblical Studies. I am twenty-two years old and I am currently working on getting my teaching certificate, which I will receive around August. I have a great passion for all forms of history, but I especially enjoy the Classical Era, the Medieval Era, and the history of Europe as a whole. Despite this, I have much knowledge in several other areas of history, as well. I am also very capable in how to find cre... ... More

Ever since the very beginning of the semester when I started to use Andrew as a tutor, he has helped me out so much with my engineering economy course. This was my first time taking an economy course and the terms that were used in lecture were really hard to understand. Ever since I met Andrew, he made the course easier and more entertaining than I thought it would be. For example, I had to do a project that required me to use Microsoft Excel. Before I had met Andrew, I had never ever used Excel in anything and I was terrified of this project. But since Andrew introduced me to Excel, I have been using it to keep up with my own finances and other stuff just for fun. What I really liked about Andrew as a tutor is that he is also extremely patient when it came down to something that I didn't understand. We would go over a topic over and over again to make sure, before the session was done for the day, that I understood what we talked about. He is awesome when it comes down to communication via phone or email. I also like that he always wants to be prepared for what we are going to be doing before the session rather than get there and figure out then what to do. He'll always ask for the textbook in advance to make sure that you are going over the same material as he is, and the syllabus to make sure that if there is anything that you can get ahead on in the class, it was possible. Overall, my tutoring experience with Andrew has been amazing and if I have anything else that I would need help with, I know who to contact. I would highly recommend this tutor to anyone who needs help with engineering economy.

"A tutor with a Midas touch"

My first encounter with tutoring was as an undergraduate student. I tutored my fellow classmates and others outside the university. Since then, I have enjoyed tutoring and love to see a student do well with my help. I value education and know that the future of this country, or any country, is in a well educated population. When I take a tutoring assignment I know I am helping shape the future of a young man or woman. I see this as a high calling. And, I make a promise, 100 percent satisfacti... ... More
