Since my childhood teaching was one of my favorite activities as I started teaching violin at the age of 18. My passion for teaching dramatically increased during my academic life. I have a 4 years of teaching/tutoring experience under my belt. I started tutoring math, physics, and chemistry in 2012, at Dona Ana Community Co... ... More

"Experienced Early Childhood Teacher"

I am currently a preschool teacher with Kids Kare Schools. I also have experience teaching toddlers and assisting teachers with students for Clovis Unified School District. I worked with Kindergarten and 3rd-8th grade students by working one on one with them in the classroom. What I love most about teaching is watching the children grow in their knowledge. I love seeing how happy they get when that light bulb clicks on and they start understanding the problems they were having. Their happ... ... More

Steven is a very patient and knowledgeable tutor that connects well with our son. He has helped raise his grades in a short period of time. Very happy we have Steven!
It became quickly apparent that my son (a sophomore in college) was completely unprepared for the complexity of the required Discrete Math course he was enrolled in for this semester. It also became apparent that the course instructor was not very good in relaying the knowledge necessary to succeed in this course. We called Chris to help with this problem, and I could not be happier with this choice. Chris has been a true professional - the ideal tutor. He was able to reach my son at an intellectual level that allowed for maximum understanding of the material. His communication skills are very clear. He was very accessible and flexible to work to my son's schedule (which sometimes was affected by his part time job). Discrete Math can vary greatly depending on its application, so the material can be different from one major to another. Chris quickly adapted to this complex material and focused in on what my son needed to succeed in his course. I give Chris my highest recommendation! You will not be disappointed.
This was my son's second visit with Madeline and he has been very pleased with her services. She has been very understanding of what challenges my son was having and suggested techniques for him to try. After the first meeting, he made some noticeable improvements in his test scores and also in his school work. He feels very confident working with her and it has helped him work more effectively in other classes. As a parent, I was reluctant in trying out this type of tutoring but after meeting with Madeline and having a brief discussion, I was pleased. I am glad I took a chance on WyzAnt and Madeline's professionalism was very evident. I recommend her services to other students who need assistance because she was very understanding of what needs can be addressed through brief history. She took the time to come up with a lesson suited to his weaknesses and it made a difference.
Lesley was an excellent SAT tutor, tailoring her lessons to my teenager's specific needs. After a few sessions, he was ready to take the knowledge and guidance gained from Lesley and continue his studies independently.
