"Reading Skills, Vocabulary/Spelling, Reading Comprehension"

I have worked as a tutor and a test proctor for 14 years at the local Community College. The methods I have used are face-to-face tutoring and online tutoring. As a proctor, I monitor tests from the classrooms, and I have also been a proctor for the SATs and ACTs. I have developed many close relationships with my students and followed their progress up to graduation. I have also taught Reading Skills and College Reading at the same college for 2 years using a computer-based program (Weaver)... ... More

My son and I met Noah today for the first time and we are very excited about getting started with him. He had some great ideas on how to tackle the material, and how to curtail it to my son's learning style. Noah mentioned in one of his emails that he enjoys making teaching fun. At the end of the meeting session, my son said "I'm excited" about tutoring with Noah! I have no doubt now, after meeting Noah, that he will indeed make the subject fun and interesting! He is passionate about history and Noah's excitement has already inspired my son! He gave some examples of "fun" anecdotes to remember some AP World History facts. Noah stated "history is like telling a story." It is easier to remember facts that way! What a great way to approach the subject! He is personable and appears to be very knowledgeable. My son is looking forward to getting started with him! Thanks WyzAnt for setting us up with Noah!

"Noah S. Latin, Greek, History, Writing"

As someone who has been tutored at different times in my life, I certainly have benefitted from the advantages of a one-on-one learning environment. For a student, it is important to have access to a educational space that is personalized. As a teacher, tutoring can be some of the most rewarding work one can do. Teachers chose this profession because it allows them to invest in the future by investing in their students; tutoring is one of the most effective ways to do that. A little bit ab... ... More

Sally went over multiplication with my daughter and she helped her out with her history assignment. I am grateful to find a great tutor for my daughter. Sally was great for the first session, we will continue to do sessions with Sally.

"Patient - Experienced Northwestern Grad for Math and Science Tutoring"

I am a Northwestern University graduate, with a double major in Communication Sciences and Disorders, and Communication Studies. I was also Pre-Med in undergrad, and completed all of my Pre-Med coursework through Biochemistry. Lastly, I had a minor in history. In high school and college I held tutoring jobs, and helped children from 6 years old to seniors in high school grasp the essentials of a variety of topics. Learning can be fun, but not everyone learns the same way. That is where ... ... More

"Eager to Help Students Succeed!"

My name is Mahesha and I am a 29 year old living in the city of Chicago. While growing up, I always enjoyed going to school and learning new things. My favorite subjects were always Math and English. There were even times in grade school where my teachers let me read to the class because I loved to teach other students. I also helped children in younger grades with subjects that they were having difficulty with. As I grew older, nothing changed. I have a passion for teaching and working... ... More

"Passionate About Building Confident Learners"

I'm a principal and an elementary teacher with a passion for building students who are confident and excited to learn more! I specialized in Language Arts certification during my undergraduate education. I'd love to help your student learn how to communicate using words and language better. This may be in the written form, or spoken form. I have over two years of tutoring experience, and some of that time was spent working with inner-city public school students. The most important part of ... ... More

"Patient and Flexible ACT, Spanish, and Geography Tutor"

Prior to WyzAnt I was an online tutor at Chegg. I love to learn. I have a broad base of subjects I feel comfortable tutoring, but not because I have dissertations and awards in these fields. It's more fun and effective to show people how to learn something than to tutor with the attitude of, "I know this, you don't." Helping a student figure out the many ways a subject can be approached makes difficult problems less daunting. Not only do students leave my sessions with questions answered, the... ... More

"Former High School English teacher wants to help you!"

Dear Students, There are a few things you should know so that you can get the most out of tutoring: *I respect you for who you are and value you as a human being. Your thoughts and your opinions matter to me. *There are no stupid questions- ASK, ASK, ASK! *I expect nothing less than your best and I will, in turn, give you nothing less than my best. *As with most things in life, what you get out of this tutoring depends upon what you put in. If you know and understand these thin... ... More

Shirin was amazingly knowledgeable in my graduate level statistic course. She was very hands on and willing to go the extra mile. She helped me to obtain a terrific grade and I would use her again as well as recommend her to others.
Arden is a good tutor because She is helping me to learn and apply my English here in the USA. I´m from Brazil and I recommend for all people that are finding a English Tutor in Missouri.
Christine made algebra much easier for me to understand, she was patient and encouraging. I feel I accomplished a lot & I am looking forward to our next session.
We did not want our teen to forget everything he learned in math over the summer break so we decided to enlist the help of Jacob to keep his skills current and brush up on the subjects he needs some help with. Jacob is professional and teaches in a way that makes math fully understandable. He seems quite competent in mathematics and always shows up for his appointments on time. Our kid said that one hour with Jacob feels more like 10 minutes. He has never said that about a math class before.
