"Amanda's Tutoring Page"
I have taken an Elementary Education course at Rhode Island College, but I got my official degree in English. I am a substitute teacher for the Waterbury School district. I mainly work in the elementary schools on a Per Diem basis, although sometimes I work in the middle schools. I find that kids struggle with math when they don't understand why it works, so I often take the time to explain math with real life examples. Although it takes memorizing to learn all the multiplication tables and o... ... More
Vilma is an extremely patient tutor who went above and beyond her job. She was very knowledgable in Organic Chemistry and was able to provide extra resources to help me understand the subject. She worked hard with me until I understood my mistakes and helped me perform better in class. Without her help I would not have been able to pass Organic Chemistry. She was very easy to always get in touch with and was very flexible with my schedule. She is a great tutor and I would recommend her for anybody.

Ricardo is an excellent teacher. He is always on time, prepared, brings a ton of new work for me, and is very patient in the lessons. He is personable and friendly while being very professional and efficient. We speak in Spanish for almost the entire hour, and he knows how to speak so that I understand and can respond at my level. The books he's recommended I use as references have been much more helpful than the books I was choosing from the bookstore. I highly recommend him as a Spanish tutor!

Stephanie is a fantastic tutor and I strongly recommend her!! She helped me increase my GRE score in a very short amount of time, helping me gain confidence in my abilities. She is someone who goes above and beyond her call of duty as a tutor and made sure that I knew of all the resources I could possibly need in order to get into grad school. She is someone I would highly recommend to anyone who is willing to put in the time, and wants someone who is going to not only help them understand the material but also motivate them to reach their potential.
You rock Stephanie!!!

"Highly effective NCLEX and SAT/ACT tutor!"
As a former child and adolescent social worker (including 3 years of training at Yale Child Study Center) I have worked to both diagnose and help students adapt their coping strategies to minimize the impact of ADD/ADHD on their academic goals. It has been my experience that most youth with ADD/ADHD are extremely bright and their success has been in large part due to this gift of intelligence. If you feel I can be helpful to your student please feel free to contact me by email!
"Tutor for Physics and Math"
I am a former restaurant manager who went to school to get a degree in physics education. I enjoy helping all students achieve the highest understanding of physics and math in a fun and energetic way. Through the use of my computer and hands on activities I believe that I make physics come alive and the student retain the information better than with just reading from a book. With my guidance the student will gain a better understanding of Math and Physic.... ... More
