Get classes with Constance makes me feel very comfortable, even though speaking English sometimes puts me on pressure, hindering the work. She's very interested in the history behind the student and use this as a pathway to the lessons. I'm glad to meet her not only as teacher but as a person too. I'm sure we will carve out my goals together.

For the past 4 years, I have worked with foreign Nurses to prepare them for the NCLEX test. I am not a nurse but I have mastered the best way to approach the NCLEX test. Most of my work was with students who spoke English as a second language. Their medical/nursing knowledge was good but their language skills were poor. This experience gave me great familiarity with the structure of the test. I would be happy to help any students master the skills needed to pass the test. ... More

Tiffany continues to bring clarity to me in my logic class. I mistakenly signed up for a 201 level course and w/ Tiffany's tutoring I can see my way through it.

Philosophers distinguish correct reasoning from incorrect reasoning by means of logic, so introductory logic courses are required in most philosophy BA programs. While completing my undergrad degree in philosophy, I took several courses in logic beyond the introductory level and received A grades in all. In my last year, I tutored introductory logic to beginning-level students. I explain in detail such basic logical concepts as propositions, arguments, explanations, deductive and inductive arguments, and the difference between validity and truth. I teach the concepts behind the types and ... More

My daughter is responsive to Ho's methods. We are anxious to get on a regular schedule with him and see what the results will be. Only issue is our availability.
I selected Chris to tutor me in Organic Chemistry because of his rapid response to my inquiry and extensive credentials. Chris and I went back and forth a little bit on the phone before meeting in person to figure out a compatible schedule for us to meet. He was pleasant and very professional on the phone. I spilled my heart out saying that I needed to pass just one more Organic Chemistry class before I could be done with it forever. He listened and came up with a plan to tackle all of the things I was struggling with. We met at Barnes and Noble that was about 25 mins away so it was convenient. Pros: Chris knew his field real well and he had good tricks to helping me learn some of the key concepts. His notes were clear and thorough. He used many different colors, which made complex reactions easier to understand. He arrived on time and made good use of the two hours. I had a very busy schedule and I liked that we scheduled a different time to meet at the conclusion of each session instead of having a set day/time. Cons: Chris sets up two-hour sessions instead of one hour. This might be okay for most people, but I felt as though I did not get the most out of the sessions because I got a little overwhelmed /mentally drained with all new information thrown at once. My college’s organic chemistry course is 45 minutes and that was more than enough time to learn new material. Chris has an expensive rate so it was not worth continuing if I was not getting the most out of the sessions. Chris moved somewhat fast so that we could get to everything I requested, however, I would have preferred spending a lot of time on fewer topics to ensure that I really mastered the concepts well. I asked Chris if we could do lots of examples and he complied but I wish we had spent more time practicing. While Chris gave me some great notes, I learn best by doing so if the sessions were shorter and a little more interactive (practice problems, having me right out rules, etc..) I would have had a better experience. In conclusion, I would probably give Chris 3.5 out of 5 stars. Chris was very nice and knowledgeable but the long sessions, very fast pace, and expensive rates made my experience a good one rather than a great one.
Alex has an excellent rapport with my son and is patient and helpful in guiding him to finding his own solution to math problems. Alex also seems to carefully evaluate whether he has really understood the concepts. His math performance at school has improved dramatically as a result of Alex's help.
