"Effective Lit & Comp Teacher, AP/SAT/ACT Test Prep, Essay Proofs"

As an educator of 15 years, I believe strongly in the power of knowledge and education, and I seek to instill in my students the same ardor and desire to learn more as they progress through their lives. I became a teacher because I love observing the "Ah ha" moments with students when they learn to analyze, process, and comment on thoughts and information they take away from literary texts such as poetry, short stories, and novels or works of philosophy and literary theory and criticism. ... ... "Expect the Exceptional!"

As a double degree graduate of the University of Rochester and the Eastman School of Music with decades of teaching experience ranging from secondary through the collegiate levels in math and music, tutoring need not be a measure of last resort to merely achieve a passing grade but, even if it is, I will help raise the student's awareness of the chosen field and its interdependence to other areas of learning via a methodology that underscores competency and does not permit failure. Whether ... ... More

Ron is soft spoken and he knows Honor Trig material very well. He explains in a way that is easily understood. We meet at Downers Grove Library and it all works out. The initial lessons were spent on homework help. Now that my child is caught up with classroom material. We use the weekly 1-hr lesson to prepare for comprehensive final. This is a grade-saver solution.

"Ivy League Grad, Former Principal, University Faculty!"

My undergraduate major was Economics, but I fell in love with Economics when I took it during my entire senior year of high school. I am very comfortable with both Microeconomics (the actions of businesses and individuals) and Macroeconomics (an examination of the entire economy), having taught both subjects at a local two-year college. I help students to understand the subject using real-life examples, and I utilize graphs to make economics come to life. ... More

My daughter's tests have significantly improved. She has a better understanding and is performing better on test. Ms. P. is kind and patient. She is detail oriented and explains the concepts in detail and then has my daughter demonstrate that she understands the theory by solving multiple problems. Ms. P. continues to be a kind and thorough tutor with my daughter. We are coming to the end of the semester and she has devoted extra time to help my daughter with her final exam preparation.

I met Anne-Elise for several sessions to improve my long-forgotten French before an upcoming trip to France. She did a great job finding the appropriate material for my level and went through the key language regarding travel to France. She was always well-prepared for the lessons. Highly recommended.
I came to Naveed for help preparing for the GMAT exam. It was my second time taking the exam and I was roughly 6 weeks away from the exam date when we began lessons. I had yet to ever break a 600 on a real or practice test. Naveed helped me prepared in two areas: quantitative confidence and organized study habits. I've always considered myself horrible at math despite completing a finance degree in the top 1% of my class. This "math phobia" was affecting my score because I had created a glass ceiling in my mind. Naveed helped me get rid of that ceiling and immensely helped my confidence prior to taking the exam. He also helped me organize my study efforts. I had collected dozens of GMAT books and tips from friends who have successfully taken the exam. I was overwhelmed by the time I met Naveed. He gave clear homework and study goals to complete each week. The end result was a 150 point gain in 7 weeks of following Naveed's methods. I would highly recommend Naveed to anyone serious about improving their GMAT score.
