I am a recent Mathematics graduate of KSU. I enjoy tutoring students of all ages. I have proven ability to raise students' grades at least one letter grade above their current grade.
I am responsible, dedicated, and personable. I enjoy working with people and am willing to travel to accommodate your tutoring needs. I am very patient and am able to explain various formulas, methods, and theories in several ways in order for the student to grasp the concept at hand.

Ellen was exactly what I hoped we could find in a tutor. She was very knowledgeable, patient, and had a pleasant personality with my son. I'm sure she will be hearing again from us in the near future.

I had a very rough beginning of the semester without Chau. I almost lost my best friend in a car accident, and it put my life on hold, and brought all of my class grades down to an F. I met with Chau after this happened, and was so stressed that I forgot my book the first session. Yet this was no problem for Chau. She taught me all I needed to know for my first test, and I continued to see her weekly (if not twice a week!). Chau was extremely flexible with my crazy schedule, and I can't thank her enough for that. After having started Accounting 1 with an F, I met with Chau consistently and was able to get a 90 on the Cumulative Final! I succeeded with a B in the class. Best tutor I've ever had, and am so grateful I chose her! Hire her, hire her!

"Accounting and finance experienced tutor!!!"
I've tutored accounting and finance courses for almost 7 years and have tutored around 500 students by now. I want to help you master the subject and break the materials down to you using different examples. I also can help you with your research or analysis papers. Trust me-- if you don't know how to use Excel, you sure will learn it from me because it's really important for accounting and finance.... ... More
It is great pleasure to be tutored by Katelyn.
She is tutoring our family (My wife, me and my son who is 6th grade). Actually, my family came to USA 6 months ago.
She is fully prepared for the tutoring. My son became confident when he speaks in English after being tutored by her. She is really helpful to improve my English like introducing some expression used in the real meeting.
She is punctual. She never late. The best things is that she prays for our family in the end of tutor!

"SAT/ACT Prep and Writing/Reading Tutor (Certified Active Teacher)"
I believe that the best way to help a student improve in his or her phonics skills is to take turns reading aloud and to help him or her learn the phonetic alphabet. I do have experience tutoring elementary school students in reading comprehension and pronunciation. Past WyZant hours have been with this type of student. To remain professional and accurate, I would like to take students through a highly rated phonetic workbook in accordance with their age and skill level. ... More
We found Carol through WyzAnt, and are very glad we did. She has been very dedicated to helping our son succeed in Math. And more than just helping him understand the specific problems he was having trouble with, she worked to fix the real problem...his study habits. She has been very supportive when working with parents too. Our son was able to see the value in studying the right way, and his grades have shown improvement in math, and other subjects as well.
Carol would typically bring in additional material to her weekly hour of tutoring our son, so he was able to see things from different angles. She would also look at online resources on her own time so that she could better understand what the teacher was instructing, and would then merge her own approach into the process.
Her schedule is quite flexible, and we have always looked forward to seeing her on Tuesday evenings. She has maintained a very professional, non-presumptive approach through the entire process.
If a parent or friend were to ask me for a suggestion for a math tutor, I would not hesitate to recommend Carol!

I have invested in the education of my children with my time and knowledge. My rising 3rd grader is in advanced math, and accelerated language arts (4th grade level), and TAG (talented and gifted). My rising 5th grader is in advanced math and advanced language arts. My rising 10th grader is in the Math and Science Magnet program in high school (Pre-Med).
I administer the READ 2 LEAD program at Dunwoody Springs Elementary School. As part of this year's program, we added a program character, theme song, database driven website, commercials, and prizes for students, teachers, and parents. As a ... More
First of all let me say, the moment my child met Jocelyn he was received with a warm comfortable feeling around her. My son really enjoys going to tutoring with her. He never complains about having to go. He respects her and takes her seriously. He is improving greatly with his math skills every day and becoming more confident. I have been getting comments from his teacher in school--stating he really is trying harder and is taking a better approach with learning. His attitude towards the "MATH" subject has even changed to the positive! Thanks so much Jocelyn!

"Professional, Highly Qualified, and Certified Teacher for Tutoring"
I have had the pleasure to work with many students whom have ADD and ADHD, as I have served as a teacher and instructor for seven years. In addition, I have a Masters degree in Special Education instruction. Through my training, I have learned to use positive behavior supports for students whom have ADD and/or ADHD.
When I work with children whom have ADD/ADHD I use a variety of techniques.
1. Make directions clear and short. Repeat if necessary.
2. Make each task specific; in other words, instead of giving several directions at once, split the directions into smaller steps.
3. Give remi ... More
