Housing and Living Arrangements of Older Persons in Six U.S. Metropolitan Areas

About the Report

Using data from several sources including the national and metropolitan-area American Housing Surveys, the dwellings, economic resources, and community environment of older people living in six geographically dispersed U.S. cities are compared. The six are Chicago, Denver, Los Angeles, Miami, New York, and San Antonio. Basic components of housing adequacy such as space, structural soundness, indoor plumbing, and central heating are analyzed.
