About the ReportAfter the 9/11 World Trade Center attacks, a large population of older persona and people with disabilities living near the disaster area were left stranded in their homes without assistance. In response, the International
Longevity Center-USA contacted local and citywide organizations that serve
older people to find out how they had dealt with the emergency and to
discover what resources were available to aid vulnerable sectors of the city
in the event of a future emergency.
