Description

A very passionate and knowledgeable tutor that enjoys helping others to understand and appreciate Mathematics & Statistics. I have 14 years of tutoring experience. I have moved to Washington, DC from New York in August 2020 and looking forward to continuing tutoring and helping those students in need. I received my Bachelor's degree in Mathematics and Economics (GPA 3.72) and my Master's degree in Applied Statistics (GPA 4.0) at Rutgers University. Recently, I went back to Rutgers and received my MBA (GPA 3.95) specializing in Market Research, Insights, and Analytics & General Marketing. I have had the pleasure in being a tutor since 2006. I was a tutor at Rutgers University for 6 years during my tenure as an undergraduate & Graduate student tutoring Math, Economics, and Statistics. Additionally, I was a peer mentor / TA in the Mathematics department at Rutgers for the Calculus I and II recitation classes. I continued to assist students with diverse backgrounds and learning needs after graduation through private 1-1 tutoring for 8 years. My students ranged from middle school through college/graduate level. I tutor all levels of Mathematics and Statistics. Currently, I am a professional Statistician/Data Scientist analyzing big data, constructing statistical / machine learning models for a living and tutoring on the side. The qualities that I possess as a tutor are that I'm passionate about the subject matter to help students stay engaged in the subject, very knowledgeable in the subject matter which will enable me to fill in the gaps in knowledge that the student may have, and I'm patient as I understand the struggles that the student is experiencing in trying to learn the new concepts. Additionally, I have a good sense of humor as a tutor, which often help ease the tensions students may have that was caused by the subject material. Over the years, I have gathered practice problems, past exams questions, and e-textbooks from previous students, which have served very well in providing extra practice and preparation for current students. I am also able to help students navigate through the TI83 / TI84 graphing calculator to assist with solving Pre-Calculus, Calculus, and Statistics problems, which is often a tool recommended in the class. Additionally, I am able to help with SPSS, SAS, Python, and Excel to perform statistical analysis. I will be able to tutor remotely via Zoom (I have a paid subscription, so we have unlimited time), via Google Hangout, and via Webex (I have a paid subscription, so we have unlimited time). I'm also open to using any other video conferencing platform that the student may be more familiar with.
