Hello, I have over twenty years experience working with students who are Talented and Gifted, on the Autistic Spectrum, have a Specific Learning Disability, and/or Memory/Processing Disorder.     I have worked in the special ed department of LAUSD for 13 years. I helped to create and implement individualized lesson plans, worked one to one with students, assisted teachers in maintaining discipline, worked with behavioral and emotional modification plans, reinforced learning situations and supervised groups of students. Students have ranged in age from 4 to 21. Have worked with students with various diagnoses, including ADD/ADHD. I have had the privilege of assisting the Special Ed. Department Chair and Coordinator; additional duties as their assistant included: memo writing, organizing meetings, and scheduling general ed. Teachers for I.E.P. mtgs., interfacing between special ed. and general ed. departments. I was also trained in and administered the K-TEA, which provides academic assessment to Special Ed. Students. Translated for many I.E.P. meetings (English/Spanish).
