Subjects
ADD/ADHD
Growing up with siblings and cousins who have ADD/ADHD, I understand the needs and skills it takes for students to be comfortable with their teacher/tutor for success. I've tutored children with ADD/ADHD and acquired skills and techniques to help these children learn. Children with ADD/ADHD have the abilities and intellect to learn, they just need to be refocused and motivated in the right direction.
Aspergers
As a teacher/tutor, I have experience working with students with Aspergers. I have taught students with special needs in reading, writing and math and enjoy spending time with them and learning about their interests. I believe incorporating a curriculum with their interests in mind, can really help them refocus and expand their knowledge in so many ways. These students are intellectual and heart-warming that just need people to understand them on a personal and professional level for further success.
autism
Children on the Autism spectrum are highly intelligent in one academic skill or overall subject. These students need schedules to help them succeed. A consistent approach is always best for students with Autism with an integration of their interests. I have experience tutoring and teaching students with Autism as well as had the opportunity to be their aide. I know with consistency, these students can flourish is so many ways.
