I'm a native Ohioan who went to Cornell University to pursue a degree in Chemical Engineering. I worked in engineering and business before getting into teaching. I've always loved Math, Chemistry and learning about HOW and WHY it is relevant and useful. Engineering allowed me to use math to solve real problems and understand how the laws of nature work. I'm an outdoors person and I love exploring nature. It's a beautiful thing to see how much of the world around us can be described using math. My faith is the number 1 priority in my life - "Seek first the Kingdom of God and all else will be given to you." I respect all faith traditions and seek opportunities for inter-religious dialogue, focusing on our commonalities. I'm also a contract Math textbook editor for McGraw Hill and other major math publishers. My Masters degree in Business (Finance & Accounting) allows me to better prepare and mentor students who want to pursue a career in business. I love inspiring people to use their creativity and intellect to achieve their potential, which will likely involve math somewhere along the road. I enjoy turning upside down preconceived notions that Math is "the evil enemy", it's just not your thing, it's boring or irrelevant. I meet every person where they are and help them get to where they want to go. No judgment. No criticism. I focus on the positive. I'm the coach who has your back.
