Hi, I am Mike. I am a results-oriented and compassionate teacher with 7 years of experience in Algebra 1 & 2. I have a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering and am a thesis shy of a master’s degree in electrical engineering with 9 years of experience in engineering and project management. My journey toward education started with my calculus professor in college who impacted and inspired me to develop a passion for mathematics; this passion compelled me to take a sabbatical from engin...
During the Summer of 2010, I personally tutored a college student who was taking Organic Chemistry 1 & 2, both for the second time. She had an ADHD, in which her attention span was no more than 15 minutes. She utilized her Blackberry in class, sending texts or internet surfing, as a coping mechanism to withstand the 2-hour lecture, 4 days a week. It was a torture for her but desire to attend Optometry School was stronger than her current situation. Therefore I developed a 15-minutes On & 5-minute Off tutoring session. During her 5-minute break she texted. She earned As in both classes and informed me that she never earned a grade higher than a B in any of her Chemistry classes, let alone Organic Chemistry.
If your desire is strong enough, then the facts don't count!
Anatomy is very fresh in my mind. I've earned the highest grade in my Anatomy & Physiology 1 & 2 class during summer 2012. How did I do that with basic knowledge of biological science? I have a system of studying for classes that require memorizing high volumes of information in a short period of time and will help you apply that skill on our first tutoring session.
As a military brat, I wanted to serve my country for at least four years after high school. Scoring 98th percentile overall on ASVAB, I was ready to choose my MOS and get started, but, my high school counselor helped me to earn a full scholarship to attend college. If you desire to score high on your ASVAB test, I can help you. I have a system for successfully passing standardized multiple choice tests. Contact me.
As an educator with over 7 years of experience, I realize the importance of earning a GED to complete one's high school education. Over the years of teaching & learning, I've developed a systematic approach to studying for standardized tests, such as GED and can help anyone, who is motivated, to succeed in passing the GED tests, first time.
With 7+ years of experience as an electrical engineer, I've used PCs and laptops for work-related and personal use. I am proficient in most of the software or can quickly learn to use it. I can self-teach just about any software out in the market place. Also, I have general knowledge of Wireless LAN (WiFi), DSL, WiMax, Ethernet, Fiber-optic networks, and many IEEE-based communication protocols.
I can consult on best technology arrangements for small office. Overall, if you need general computer help, then, I can help you.
In the Summer 2010, I took Organic Chemistry 1 & 2 with labs and earned an A in both classes. As an engineer, I developed a systems-approach to tackling any subject, especially Organic Chemistry. I proved the system and had two of my study group members to follow the identical system. At the end of the summer session, we all earned the highest grades in the class of 40 students. The two study group members continued to implement the system in their studies in Pre-Dental curriculum; both graduated with high-honors and are now third-year dental students at UT-Houston Dental School.
I can help you succeed in Organic Chemistry!
