Hello! My name is Roseanne Cox and I've been working with students of all ages for over 20 years. I recently retired as an ESL/ESOL tutor with the Chesapeake Public School system and now offer private tutoring from my home in Western Branch. While I typically work with students of all ages and cultural backgrounds on a wide array of subjects including SOL prep, my primary focus is helping students build self-confidence and establish better study habits.
I also work with foreign military from the U. S. Joint Forces Command and international businessmen in private industry. The goal is to help them improve English proficiency in a professional environment.
Having lived and worked overseas as a military spouse, I have a keen insight on the importance of developing an understanding of host-nation customs and traditions, and include that as part of my tutoring.
While the majority of my students are international, I also provide assistance to other primary, middle and high school students who need assistance building self-confidence with their academics and improving their study habits.
Over the years, I've successfully assisted many students, and have watched some develop from a "level one english" to winning academic awards in just a few years. One of my students recently contacted me for assistance with medical school applications, and another who returned to her native Tokyo, Japan, recently won the top English award in her region.
The examples above support the fact that I take great pride in what I do, and I provide a high level of education in a very comfortable environment.
I look forward to working with you and adding you to the growing list of success stories!
